Kiwanis Club of Coeur d’Alene Assembles 213 Hygiene Kits for Local Neighbors in Need
On July 29, members of the Kiwanis Club of Coeur d’Alene gathered at Kiwanis Park for one of our favorite annual service projects – assembling hygiene kits for individuals and families facing difficult circumstances in our community.
Eighteen club members worked together in lively “assembly lines” to prepare 213 complete hygiene kits, each filled with essential personal care items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, combs, brushes, and other everyday necessities. While these items may seem small, they can make an enormous difference for someone experiencing a personal crisis.
The completed kits will be distributed through several outstanding local organizations that serve those in need:
These organizations assist people who are experiencing homelessness, escaping domestic violence, facing financial hardship, rebuilding their lives, or navigating other challenging situations. The hygiene kits provide immediate, practical support while recipients work toward greater stability and independence.
Of course, no Kiwanis gathering would be complete without good fellowship! Members also enjoyed a delicious potluck dinner, plenty of laughter, and the camaraderie that comes from serving side by side for a common purpose.

Projects like this remind us that improving our community doesn’t always require grand gestures. Sometimes, a simple bag of everyday necessities can restore dignity, provide hope, and let someone know that their community cares.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated supplies, helped organize the project, prepared food, and spent the evening making a difference. Together, we assembled more than hygiene kits—we assembled hope.
Serving the children and families of our community… one project at a time.
