Service Leadership Programs

The Kiwanis family includes members of all ages and abilities. In addition to Kiwanis clubs for adults who serve kids, we offer Kiwanis Service Leadership Programs. Our SLPs are Key Club International for high school students, Circle K International for college and university students, K-Kids for elementary school students, Builders Club for middle school students and Aktion Club for adults with disabilities.

SLPs are leadership and character-building programs hosted in a school or community agency and often sponsored by a Kiwanis club or another civic organization. Kiwanis International offers resources and support to help anyone open SLP clubs wherever there is a need and opportunity in their communities.

The Kiwanis Club of Coeur d’Alene is proud to sponsor and support two very active Service Leadership Programs in Coeur d’Alene – a Key Club and an Aktion Club.

Lake City Key Club

Key Club at Lake City High School is a student-led service organization proudly sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Coeur d’Alene. As part of the Kiwanis family of Service Leadership Programs, the club equips students with leadership skills through hands-on service that benefits both their school and the greater Coeur d’Alene community.

Members participate in a variety of volunteer projects, fundraisers, and leadership activities that foster responsibility, compassion, and teamwork. Whether supporting school initiatives, assisting local nonprofits, or volunteering alongside Kiwanis members at community events, students gain practical experience while developing a lifelong commitment to service. As one of thousands of Key Clubs worldwide, the Lake City chapter provides a welcoming environment where students can grow in confidence, discover their strengths, and make a meaningful impact.

The Coeur d’Alene Kiwanis Club plays an active role in mentoring and supporting Key Club members by helping guide service projects, encouraging leadership development, and building connections between students and the community. This partnership creates opportunities for intergenerational collaboration while reinforcing Kiwanis’ mission of improving the world one child and one community at a time.

Together, Lake City High School Key Club and the Kiwanis Club of Coeur d’Alene work side by side to inspire service, strengthen community relationships, and empower the next generation of leaders who will continue to make a difference well into the future.
